MINISTERIAL TRAINING
Formation Programme for
Candidates for the Permanent Diaconate
A special Archdiocesan
Committee convened by the Archbishop selects candidates from among those
going through discernment. It is presumed that those chosen as
candidates for the Diaconate will already have done the Two-Year Lay
Leadership Training Programme and the courses for training of Lay
Ministers, and that they will already have had experience as lay
ministers in conducting services and in parish administration.
Exceptions of course, may be made by the Archbishop due to particular
circumstances.
Prospective candidates
should see that their applications are processed well before the date of
acceptance. Those who are waiting are urged to take some theology
courses at St Michael’s.
