Archdiocesan Vocation Commission

GOAL: To assist the Ordinary in promoting, educating, and supporting the Church’s pastoral needs and concerns for the priesthood, the diaconate and the consecrated life within the Archdiocese of Kingston.

OBJECTIVES: To promote the effective ministry of the ordained state and consecrated life through the following:

·   providing and publishing appropriate material resources

·   organizing retreats, days of recollection, vocation talks, rallies etc.

·   encouraging the regular practice of prayer for vocation prayer  - personal and communal

·   organizing vocation activities at the diocesan, deanery and parish levels

·   providing directions for those who are seriously discerning

·   collaborating with the vocation commissions of the Dioceses of Mandeville and Montego Bay, and Leadership Conference of Religious in Jamaica and liaise with the Antilles Episcopal Conference
